Renting my San Diego ocean and bay front properties, I continually got requests for something more modestly priced. It didn’t take long to see the need! We all know you can’t get a place ON the beach or bay for anything that approaches “modestly-priced” but, hey, the weather is just as nice 4 blocks from the beach! A leisurely stroll down to the beach to watch the sunset (and maybe even see the elusive “green flash”) is not only pleasant but good for us.

I decided to turn one of my long-term apartments into a vacation rental that a young family or a few young school teachers visiting from a foreign country could afford. We took up the carpet and discovered beautiful oak hardwood floors, which we sanded and refinished. Making a pass-through between the kitchen and living room opened it up, “California-style.” We made the closets bigger and put mirrored doors on them. Closing off a kitchen door allowed us to enlarge the bathroom and add a broom closet. We laid ceramic tile on the bathroom floor and tub surround, put in a new cast iron tub and toilet and a 36 inch vanity with a tile counter-top. We didn’t remodel the kitchen because the 50s retro-look is coming back but it has all new appliances and everything you need to cook at home, if you want. I searched high and low for just the right furniture and decorated it in a comfy beach style. I have made sure it has everything you need to be able to just show up with your toothbrush and clothes, ready to enjoy a well-earned vacation. It has high-speed wireless internet, Cable TV, DVD, VCR and a phone with unlimited calling the the USA. A private garage with automatic door opener, laundry room on premises. You can hardly get a standard cramped hotel room, inland and overlooking the freeway for that in San Diego! Bring your family and with these prices you will have extra money to enjoy more of San Diego, maybe SeaWorld or the World Famous San Diego Zoo.

Come and enjoy the best climate in the U.S and all that San Diego has to offer without having to take out a loan to do it!

			Lots of light in this comfy conversation area. Large flat-screen Cable TV and DVD player. Pass-thru to kitchen with counter and bistro chairs. There is also another sofa where I am standing taking this photo which is in front of the main living room window.

			We remodeled the bathrooms: Brian did a great job on the tilework!

			All new bathroom is a delight to be in. Slope-back tub to take a bubble bath after a day at the beach or a stressful day of shopping.

			It's handy to have this chest for unpacking and packing your suitcase and there is lots of drawer and closet space for your belongings.

			Comfortable queen bed with 350 count Egyptian cotton sheets. There is a desk and a chest at the foot of the bed where you can set your suitcase to unpack. Lots of closet space to keep the room neat.

			Bunk beds give you more room. There is a desk and dresser in this room also. Very comfortable mattresses and quality sheets assure a good night’s rest.

			Enjoy your own courtyard and visit with your neighbors.
