Below you will find details about our 4 bed/ 3 bath vacation home, Manoir de Rose, located in a quiet, residential neighborhood in the hills above La Jolla. 

This lovely vacation home is reminiscent of a French country manor home. Complete with a lovely pool and spa in the backyard, this magnificent home is perfect for your next family trip to San Diego! The home is located in a peaceful neighborhood on the hill right above La Jolla Shores with an incredible view of La Jolla peninsula jutting out into the Pacific Ocean and fabulous sunsets.  

The house is set back from the street surrounded by a wrought iron gate and a green lawn. Step into the entry with its vaulted ceilings and crystal chandelier and "Rose," the mistress of the house, is there to welcome you. The original was sculpted by Rodin and Rose was the love of his life. Turn left into the spacious living room where the gas log fireplace lends a cheerful glow to the large seating area. Directly off the living room is the formal dining area with seating for eight. The dining area leads into the fully equipped kitchen where any home chef will find everything he or she needs to prepare meals while keeping an eye on the kids in the pool. Just off the kitchen is the casual family room where you can watch one of 45 premium movie channels, over 300 premium TV channels or enjoy your favorite sports team with 40 regional sports networks on the 55 inch flat-screen TV. Stay in touch with high speed internet (50/5 Mbps) and unlimited phone service in the U.S., to Canada, Mexico, China, Hong Kong, India, The EU (28 countries), Norway and U.S. territories. Listen to your favorite music with 75 satellite radio channels. 

There is 1 queen bedroom with a 48 inch TV and 1 full bathroom with a shower on the main floor for family members who may not want to climb stairs. An elegant stairway leads up to the library which has a pull out queen sofa bed for an occasional guest, a lovely canyon view and a chess/checkers table. There are 2 master bedrooms off the central library, each with a king size bed and 48 inch TV plus a view of the ocean and La Jolla peninsula. One of the master bedrooms has a skylight to watch the stars while the other one has a sliding glass door out to the rooftop deck to enjoy the morning sun. The third bedroom upstairs has a queen bed and 48 inch TV. 

The rooftop deck has three very comfortable lounge chairs with an umbrella, and a table for 6 (8 chairs) with an umbrella. Take the stairway down to the backyard and you will find a sun room with wall to wall windows, a ping pong table, a game table, and a chaise lounge and canopy bed for an afternoon nap! There are two outdoor tables with 10 chairs under the pergola by the pool. 
The large 2 car garage has a washer and dryer, backpack style beach chairs, a cooler, body boards, and beach umbrellas. This is the perfect place for your family or friends to enjoy being together on vacation and build memories to last a lifetime!

*NOTE: This home is in a residential neighborhood and, as such, is a NOISE SENSITIVE property. Respect must be shown for the property and neighbors at all times. No loud music, parties, and or loud talking outside after 9 pm. Violation of these rules MAY result in immediate eviction from the property per your rental agreement, and/or fines from the San Diego Police. Please review your rental agreement for complete details and rules about your home!

If you have never stayed in a vacation rental before, we are not a hotel, WE ARE BETTER! We offer many of the same luxuries of a hotel with the comfort and space of home to share with your whole family. Our property owners are our friends and we work with each owner to offer a special, specific and ideal environment for guests to experience and enjoy. All of our homes offer similar amenities so you can expect the same experience whenever staying with us. 

With that said, we need you to do your part in helping us maintain each home. Please be attentive to ALL RESPONSIBILITIES as a guest of our home. Trash/Recycling, Check-out duties, Communication to management and Care of the home all help us give each guest and family a home to feel at home in. We appreciate your assistance in making our homes and our business unlike any other!

*Pool heat is an additional cost of $75/day. Payment must be received before the heat can be turned on. If choosing to heat the pool less than 48 hours prior to arrival, an additional $30 will be required with the $75/day cost of pool heat. 

Please note: the pool heats about 1 degree per hour. 

We like our guests to feel at home as soon as they arrive! We provide a ‘starter kit’ to help our guests get settled without needing to rush off to the store. 

Our kits include: paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, soap, linens, towels, kitchen sponges, dish soap, laundry detergent and fabric softener, dishwasher soap when applicable, trash bags, either Keurig coffee makers with k-cups or standard coffee makers, extra blankets, sometimes extra pillows, extra sheets-for sleeper sofas, hair dryers, ironing boards, kitchens fully stocked-enough for max occupancy with some extra settings, toasters, some waffle makers, blenders, tool kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, co2/fire detectors, and most homes have heat available. 

While on vacation, we want our guests to enjoy their vacation to the fullest and we feel in order for our guests to do this, they should also feel informed. Our emails serve to educate you on your vacation rental home, the surrounding area, responsibilities, what to expect and how to get in touch with us. We respect your privacy so our emails help provide you with all you need to know to reference as you please. 

In addition, most of our properties have House Manuals detailing specific information about the property, amenities and responsibilities. Not to mention an awesome section on attractions, events, restaurants and more to help guide you during your stay in San Diego.

I missed a phone call, but got a pleasant text requesting we take out the garbage. Emails were responded to promptly.
Property was amazing. It was so beautiful and comfortable, it had everything we needed. There was a plentiful supply of garbage bags, soaps, toilet paper. Loads of towels. The bathrobes and fans were an extra special touch. Rooms were large and nicely decorated. The views were breathtaking. Beds were very comfortable. I wish there wasn't carpet under the kitchen island seating, or another eating area in the kitchen, but 2 sinks, ovens, and fridges were great. Also, although we paid for pool heat, it was just enough to take the edge off, but not really warm. Kids were OK, adults not so much. I never got such detailed instructions about a rental property before, but it was really useful and made our stay easier.

Summer 2020 Booking Policy: 

Saturday to Saturday required with 6-7 night reservations. On July 4th 2020, check-in or check-out is NOT permitted. Friday or Sunday arrival/departures ONLY over the holiday.
*Please contact us if your plans differ from this policy to see if we may be able to accommodate your request.

Nightly Minimum Policy: 
4 night minimum required in the off season.
6 nights AND a Saturday Check-in is REQUIRED during peak season (June - August). Arrival on Friday or Sunday instead may be an option.

(Please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you!) 

Arrival/Departure Policy: 
Check in time is 3 pm and strictly enforced. (From June-August, check-in is at 4pm)
Check out time is 11 am. 

Please follow all instructions for your arrival and departure in our email and phone call correspondence. There is signage around the home to assist with the use of amenities and questions that you may have during your stay. We are available too, even after hours-give us a call! 

Pet Policy: This property is pet-friendly. Please note: a pet fee of $50/pet plus tax, plus $20 upgrade to our peace of mind damage waiver is required with approval. Please send breed and pet description(s) for approval on your pet’s stay. 

Rate Policy: Prices change on a daily basis so the rates you see today may be higher or lower when booking! 

Age Policy: We do not typically rent to guests under the age of 25 or large parties. Please contact us prior to booking to see how we may accommodate your group.
