Best Breakfast Restaurants in Pacific Beach: Four Ways to Start Your MorningOne person wants a breakfast burrito before the beach. Someone else wants to sit down, order another coffee and let the morning stretch out. A third person is already asking whether you will need to move the car.
Choosing breakfast in Pacific Beach gets easier when you start with those differences. The neighborhood has places near the ocean, choices farther along Garnet Avenue, and cafes on the Mission Bay side. They can all work, but they do not create the same morning.
This shortlist highlights four options with different settings and menus. “Best” means a useful fit for your plans, rather than a claim that one restaurant wins every category. Restaurant information was checked against official websites in November 2026; use the links for current menus and service details.
Kono’s Cafe: Start Near the Ocean
Address: 704 Garnet Avenue
Kono’s official website places it at Crystal Pier, making it the natural starting point on this list when being near the ocean is the priority.
Its posted breakfast menu includes egg burritos, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, French toast and larger breakfast plates. That gives a group several directions without requiring everyone to agree that breakfast should be either sweet or savory.
The menu page lists daily hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Thanksgiving and Christmas closures. It also states that credit cards are accepted and prices are available in-store. Check those details directly before visiting, especially around holidays.
Our planning suggestion: make this the breakfast choice when your next stop is the oceanfront area. Leave room in the schedule for ordering and finding somewhere appropriate to eat. A location near the pier does not mean a particular seat, view or quick service time is guaranteed.

Fig Tree Cafe: Make Cass Street the Destination
Address: 5119 Cass Street
Fig Tree Cafe’s Pacific Beach location gives you a different geographic starting point. Its Cass Street address is separate from the busy Garnet-and-oceanfront breakfast cluster, so map it as its own stop rather than assuming everything on a Pacific Beach list is next door.
The official location page lists daily service from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and links to menus and online ordering. Fig Tree also has a Liberty Station location, so confirm that the location selected on your directions or order is Pacific Beach.
This is worth comparing when you are willing to make a cafe visit the main morning plan. Browse the current menu together before leaving, particularly if your group includes people with different dietary needs.
A useful approach is to choose the restaurant first, then build the walk or next activity around that address. Trying to fit an unplanned breakfast stop between two timed activities often makes the morning feel more complicated than it needs to be.

Crown Point Coffee: A Bayside Cafe Morning
Address: 3510 Ingraham Street
Crown Point Coffee is the option to consider when your plans revolve around the Mission Bay side of Pacific Beach. Its official site describes a family-owned cafe with indoor and patio seating, breakfast, smoothies and specialty coffee.
The menu highlights breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast, a Mediterranean bowl and an acai bowl. That makes it a useful place to compare when some people want a substantial sandwich and others would rather order a bowl or a drink.
The cafe lists daily hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and describes its patio as dog-friendly. Confirm food-service availability and any seating arrangements you need; a cafe’s closing time does not establish that every menu item is available until then.
You could pair breakfast with a separate bayfront outing. Our San Diego vacation rentals can provide a starting point for exploring the coast, but calculate the route from your actual accommodation before promising everyone an easy walk.

Pablo’s Cafe: Breakfast Farther Along Garnet
Address: 1730 Garnet Avenue
Pablo’s Cafe lists its location in Pacific Plaza Shopping Center, next to Vons. It is an inland Garnet Avenue choice, rather than an oceanfront breakfast stop.
Its posted menu includes breakfast plates, egg burritos, sandwiches and scrambles. One larger breakfast combines pancakes, eggs, bacon, potatoes and an English muffin; other options include a vegetable scramble and eggs with fruit and toast.
The official site lists daily hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thanksgiving and Christmas closures, and call-ahead pickup. Its menu carries a 2025 update note, so confirm current dishes and prices rather than treating an older online price as a promise.
Choose this part of the neighborhood intentionally. If you are already nearby, it may fit neatly into your morning. If your group wants to spend breakfast looking toward the ocean, an inland address solves a different problem.

Plan for the Morning You Actually Want
Before choosing, agree on three things: whether breakfast is the outing or the meal before it, whether you want to walk or drive, and whether anyone needs a specific menu accommodation.
Map the restaurant from your rental rather than relying on the neighborhood name. Do not assume parking is included, outdoor seating will be available, or pickup will be faster without checking.
For allergies and dietary restrictions, speak with the restaurant about ingredients and preparation. A menu description alone cannot establish how a kitchen handles cross-contact.
Pacific Beach Breakfast Questions
Is this the same as the Mission Beach guide?
No. These are Pacific Beach and Crown Point addresses. For options farther south, see our Mission Beach breakfast guide.
Which place should we choose for breakfast near the ocean?
Kono’s has the oceanfront-area location in this shortlist. Choose it for that geography, while confirming current ordering and seating details.
Should we eat out every morning?
Only if that suits your trip. Mixing a few cafe visits with breakfast at your rental leaves room for both exploring and slower mornings.
